Have you been thinking about taking a larger role in the PTSA? We have three positions open! We are looking for anyone open to collaborating with other parents and school staff on issues and events that enhance our Maple community.
VICE PRESIDENT Description:
Support the PTSA President and assist with decision-making.
Communications director managing newsletter, online content, membership coordinator and outreach strategies of the PTSA .
Represent the PTSA at monthly meetings and school events.
Attend 1 PTSA training per year.
Commitment: 8-16 hrs/month.
TREASURER
Description:
Prepare the annual tax return.
Generate and maintain the PTSA budget.
Inform committees of budgeted funds.
Pay bills and reimbursements as required.
Oversee ongoing PTSA finances to ensure adherence to approved PTSA budget.
Prepare and present budget report for each PTSA board and general meeting, typically once a month.
Attend 1 PTSA training per year.
Commitment: 100 hours per year, tax return (done by hand) takes about 4 hours
Busiest Times of Year: Beginning of the year due to learning curve; some late Spring/Summer work getting budget ready for Fall with the president.
MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR
Description:
Are you interested in growing parent involvement at Maple? Do you have ideas about making the most of our rich community of families, teachers and students? Do you have thoughts about how the PTSA could do better? This is the opportunity for you!
Plan annual membership campaign.
Log members and manage membership database.
Facilitate ongoing membership awareness and promote recruitment through social media, PTSA table at school events, etc.
Give regular membership reports at PTSA meetings.
Attend 1 PTSA training per year.
Commitment: 8 hours at the beginning of the school year and then 1-2 hours per month. Remember this is dynamic position that can be expanded and enhanced!

Students do better when parents are involved. It feels good to participate. Your help is always needed. You meet other parents and get to know school staff. It's a manageable amount of time. It's fun!
