Hello and congratulations on having a kindergartner! You are in for a great journey as your student starts school at Maple.
Here are a few things of note as you get ready for the school year:
Jump Start Aug. 20st – 24th 9:00am-Noon: By now you should have received updated information about Jump Start, a great way to get your Kindergartner familiar with what to expect as they start school.
August 24th Kindergarten Lunch: All kindergarten families are invited to attend. This happens on the last day of Jump Start at 12:00. Hot dogs and veggie options will be available.
Sept. 10th First Day of School for Kindergarten: While all other grades of 1st-5th start on Sept 5th, this delay start will give your family an opportunity to privately conference with your child’s teacher before Kindergarten begins. More information will be provided during Jump Start.
Sept 10th First Day Meet & Greet: Join other parents immediately following first day drop-off in the cafeteria for coffee, donuts and a chat with our Vice Principals.
Sept 19th 6-8pm, Curriculum Night: Meet other Maple families and faculty; hear about school programs including the arts. Get information on how you can volunteer your time and help strengthen our school community.
Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) Newsletter: This comprehensive publication includes information on upcoming events, community concerns effecting our school as well as opportunities for family engagement and volunteering. It is distributed each month via email and “Kid mail” (sent home in your child’s class folder).

Your help is always valued; volunteering for monitoring recess, chaperoning field trips, helping at various after school events as well as in the classroom is encouraged. Consider joining the PTSA and/or attend meetings for in-depth discussions with other interested parents and faculty regarding issues effecting Maple faculty, families and student body. PTSA meetings are the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8pm in the Staff Lounge in Building B.
